1. Draft Nodal Review

The Draft Nodal Review was called for by the Spatial Development Framework 2040, and outlines the aims of the Nodal Review, the process that was followed in reviewing the nodes in the city, and describes a new ‘transect’ or ‘development zone’ approach which is an evolution of the nodal strategy. It then indicates the development guidelines that should be applied in each of the development zones of the city.

COJ are now hosting exhibitions and feedback sessions on Saturday the 7th of April where they will answer questions and receive feedback from the public.

The Spatial Development Framework 2040 for Johannesburg, the Spatial Planning and Land Use Management Act (16 of 2013, SPLUMA) and the City of Johannesburg Municipal Planning By-Law (2016) all make provision for inclusionary housing to be implemented in the City. As such, since early 2017, the City of Johannesburg has been investigating and developing a policy that is now in a draft stage and ready for public comment.

The City would like to invite comment on the documents from any party that may be interested.
